Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has criticised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over a stage-jumping demonstration, accusing him of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu.
In a video circulating on social media on Sunday, Igboho described Makinde’s action as childish and insulting.
“He was jumping around like a frog and a mad man, insulting Tinubu, saying Tinubu can’t jump like him as if he doesn’t have a father,” Igboho said.
He added that anyone who insults the president would receive a similar response from him.
“If you insult Tinubu, I will insult you too,” he declared.
The remarks followed Makinde’s appearance at a South-West town hall meeting of the Makinde/Daura presidential campaign organisation in Akure, Ondo State, on Thursday.
During the event, the Oyo State governor jumped off the stage to emphasise energy and stamina. He challenged other presidential candidates to replicate the demonstration, saying: “If they can do that, vote for them.”
Although Makinde did not mention Tinubu by name, the demonstration was widely interpreted as a criticism of the president’s physical fitness ahead of the 2027 elections.
Igboho insisted that the president deserved respect and maintained that Tinubu was not as old as some claimed.
