The concept of two people choosing each other in all ramifications, making a commitment to live life together and the mere concept of love is for certain the deepest and most beautiful thing that exists. The totality of love and all that it entails is as powerful as it can be. Therefore, one can understand the forces behind the emotions of two people who claim to be in love.

Unfortunately, we are at a time where the idea of love has been belittled; people confuse the feeling of love for temporary emotions. They get carried away with the idea of what they assume love should be and go ahead to build their life and future on misinterpreted feelings. This, out of many other reasons is a major factor contributing to broken marriages in the 21st century.

However, there are so many other reasons why people decide to get divorced and go their separate ways. One can say that marriage is not a child’s play and in the process of spending forever with a person, so many things happen along the line.

Aside the fact that there are cases of people wanting something entirely different from what their partner has to offer, people also outgrow each other’s affection.

There are real life cases of couples who allow external forces influence their thought process and feelings in their marriage. These people determine their marriage based on what they see and hear on social media and from friends. Whatever happened to the realization that marriage should be as sacred and personal as possible?

Another couples approach to making their marriage blossom might never work for another. It is indeed an unthoughtful act to assume a third party would know what it best for your marriage.

Meanwhile, it is very important to note that the moment a marriage start to feel unsafe and threatening, it is necessary that the partners come to an agreement to let go of each other. This definitely is not the end of the road for the two individuals, especially if they decide not to let the circumstances of their divorce determine the rest of their lives.

The world has seen divorcees who triumph and soar higher after their divorce. They chase their dreams and make bigger life changing decisions. In most cases, it could have been their partners drawing them back all the while, making them incapable of doing the things that ordinarily they should have been doing. However, in these cases, divorce can definitely be termed a blessing rather than a loss.

What is most important is that people must be very conscious and sensitive when it comes to choosing a life partner. This single decision is one that can make or mar an individual for the rest of their life.

Marriage indeed is meant to be a blessing to both parties, the moment it begins to feel like a curse, couples should never shy away from exploring other possible options, divorce inclusive.
