Ogun State ’23: Dapo Abiodun and his rationalising army

For two years he was in Canada on ‘Japa’, only few suspecting people in Ogun State know about this. He is living off Ogun State people’s money, he is also hustling in Canada. Money for “Data Boyz” is passed through him and those innocent ones are sweating profusely, cursing and abusing to justify the N30k stipends which was considered more than enough for their efforts.

But after the electoral misfortunes and not too impressive performance of his boss during the last election, Adediran Ojo became one of the vocal voices in looking for where to push the blame. He went to town to start looking for Judases here and there. Let me help him locate one, if he hasn’t found any yet.

Judase Number One: if a civil servant abdicates his responsibility and travels abroad in search of greener pastures, the law will declare him as a “Ghost Worker”, but in Dapo Abiodun‘s political empire, it is a norm for absentee political appointees because in the first place, such appointments were merely jobs for the boys. Now how do “ghost appointees” make their boss popular at home, how do they canvass for the trust and votes for the person that gave them the jobs. People who become arrogant in power do not command the respect of the people, rather they piss many people off.

Judas Number Two: there are 9 local Government Chairmen in Ogun East, 103 elected Councilors, there are also appointed secretaries in all 9 local government council areas, there are also countless of Party leaders, and executive. Except in Ijebu North and Ijebu Ode where the Governor wins with a slight margin, all these people should be probed and asked how come their party lost. Is it that they are not popular at home or that the personality of the governor cannot win elections in his own Senatorial District or he has not performed to earn a re-election. These are Judases Number 2 that should be queried without passing the bulk. Incidentally, the political leaders in these local government where an incumbent lost under their watch are the most vocal in passing on the bulk. The governor is in danger if he continues to put his trust in these kind of people.

…funny aides and real judases who are far removed from the masses…

Judas Number 3: A sitting governor who cannot establish a foothold for himself in his own Senatorial District in four years of administration should be considered ineffective (I don’t want to use the word, foolish). You won a landslide in your first outing in the whole of Ogun East Senatorial District, but burnt the bridges of Goodwill in just four years and instead of looking inward into what exactly was wrong with you, you allowed yourself to be led by those who failed you to lead you towards an answer looking for a scapegoat. They will lead you into a pot of “Isi Ewu” soon. Barely three weeks before, your party returned over 115,000 votes in your Senatorial District during the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, but when it comes to your own election, you return barely 86,000 votes in the same district. Does it not occur to you that people voted for the personality of Asiwaju and the Senatorial Candidate on the ballots? The monster of failure in you, is the third Judas, you need to look inward.

After a woefully failed electoral outing saved by the whiskers of INEC compromise, funny aides and real judases who are far removed from the masses and have created a big-man lifestyle, living larger than the ordinary citizens and relating a class far above what they are, they are the ones who become the most vocal on social media trying to rationalise phyrric victory and celebrated more than anything else. This is to mask their failures and inability to justify their pay of making their master popular for a re-election. They are the most vocal looking for who to hang the chord of their non performance on so that no one will ask them how they failed to deliver. Bigger failures await you in the future if you cannot look inward.

I think DA should not live in any illusion, all those who worked with him have failed him, he cannot be looking for any Judas outside members of his cabinet, who cannot deliver. How about volume of Judases who came for endorsements and collected money. Where are the votes they brought to the table. The so-called Yewa votes, I repeat with emphasis, the so-called Yewa votes were not endorsement nor a vote of confidence on the Dapo Abiodun administration, they were votes investment for the 2027 Yewa Agenda, not even necessarily a Vote in endorsement of Yayi, rather an indemnity of a future gain. In other words, DA should be considered a failure, all these noise about somebody dey do you na lie. Na you dey do yourself, yours is an unpopular government, and you cannot not draw on any other person’s credibility without acknowledgement.
