Abia Governor Alex Otti approves 100 hectares for a Nigerian Air Force training base, expanding the existing Abia Airport Project site
Alex Otti has approved 100 hectares of land at the Abia Airport Project site for the Nigerian Air Force to establish a training base in the state.

The approval expands on the 50 hectares previously earmarked for the project. Governor Otti made the announcement while receiving a delegation from the NAF Ground Training Command, led by Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Kehinde.
Otti assured the Air Force that the Abia Airport runway, under joint construction by the Federal and State governments, would soon be operational.
He further promised that the Certificate of Occupancy for the land would be ready within thirty days and urged the Commander to support state efforts against criminality.

Air Vice Marshal Kehinde commended Abia State for its strong security measures, noting that it was ahead of other Southeast states in maintaining law and order.
