The party secured 65 votes at Ward 4, Unit 39, ahead of APC with 43 as sorting and counting continued across Osun

Following the conclusion of voting, sorting and counting at Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Accord Party emerged with the highest number of votes, according to the result declared by the Presiding Officer, Oyeranmi Deborah.

The Accord Osogbo votes stood at 65, placing the party ahead of the All Progressives Congress, which recorded 43 votes at the polling unit.

The African Democratic Congress received two votes, while the Action Alliance, African Action Congress and Zenith Labour Party each secured one vote.

The result was declared by the presiding officer after INEC officials completed the sorting and counting of ballots at the polling unit.

The figures were recorded as follows: Accord Party, 65 votes; APC, 43; ADC, two; AA, one; AAC, one; and ZLP, one.

The development came as sorting and counting continued at polling units across Osogbo and other parts of Osun State following the close of voting.

Correspondents monitoring the exercise reported that several polling units had concluded voting and were proceeding with the counting and declaration of results in line with the electoral process.

The result from Unit 39 represents only one polling unit and does not indicate the overall outcome of the Osun State governorship election.

Attention is now shifting towards the collation of results from individual polling units, wards and local government areas as election officials continue the process of determining the eventual winner.
