On Tuesday, 3 March, Adekunle Gold returned to the social media platform with a short but striking message: “EJA NLA 2026,” a Yoruba phrase meaning “Big Fish 2026.”
The phrase appears to reference his long standing “Big Fish” persona and has prompted speculation about a possible album, tour or major project.
Adekunle Gold breaks silence at a time when viral rumours have circulated online suggesting that his marriage to Simi may have hit turbulence.
The speculation gained traction after a celebrity blog shared what was described as a divorce petition allegedly filed by the singer.
The document was later exposed as fabricated.
Neither Adekunle Gold nor Simi publicly addressed the divorce claims directly.
However, the timing of his return has reignited discussion across social media platforms.
Some users flooded his comment section with questions about his marriage, while others dismissed the rumours as baseless gossip.
The intense online reaction underscores the couple’s high profile status within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
The renewed attention also comes weeks after Simi faced criticism over resurfaced old posts on X, which generated days of heated debate.
While Adekunle Gold has resumed posting, Simi has yet to return to the platform since responding to the backlash.
Despite the noise, Adekunle Gold’s succinct message projected confidence, with supporters interpreting it as a powerful signal that he remains focused on his craft.
For now, the singer appears intent on redirecting attention to his music.
