[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) has confirmed all preparations for its highly anticipated African Marketing Excellence Awards, scheduled for Saturday, 22nd February 2025.

Set to take place at the Admiralty Conference Centre, Naval Dockyard, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, the event will begin at 5 PM.

Recognised as Africa’s most prestigious marketing accolade, this annual gathering will celebrate innovative strategies and impactful marketing within the industry.

The ADVAN Awards 2025 aims to bring together some of the brightest minds in marketing, with attendees including top marketing professionals, government officials, industry leaders, and CEOs of multinational corporations.

This prestigious event will serve as a key meeting point for Africa’s marketing elite, offering an unparalleled opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and recognising excellence.

The theme for the 2025 awards, “Controlled Chaos: Mastering Marketing in a Hyper-Connected World“, reflects the challenges and opportunities faced by marketers in an era where consumer attention is fragmented, trends are unpredictable, and digital content overwhelms the senses.

According to Manpreet Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of Tolaram Group and Chairman of the Awards Planning Committee, the marketing landscape has evolved significantly, making traditional marketing methods obsolete.

“We live in an era where consumer attention is fragmented like never before. Traditional marketing playbooks have become outdated, and new strategies—while promising—often feel like a trial-and-error game.

Yet, some brands consistently cut through the clutter by embracing unpredictability, staying agile, and experimenting relentlessly while remaining authentic and human,” Singh stated.

The 2025 ADVAN Awards will introduce exciting new award categories that reflect the industry’s evolving trends. These include:

  • Best Use of AI – Recognising brands that leverage artificial intelligence to drive innovative marketing campaigns.

  • Industry Builder Award – Honouring outstanding entrepreneurs and CEOs who have significantly contributed to the marketing and advertising sectors.

  • Public Sector Brand of the Year Award – Celebrating government agencies that excel in using perception marketing to promote policies and build sustainable brands.

This year’s planning committee features a range of prominent marketing professionals, including Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing Communications at Nigeria Breweries Plc, and Funmilayo Osineye, Business Manager at Nestlé Plc, alongside other members of the ADVAN Executive Council.

The ADVAN African Marketing Excellence Awards not only recognise outstanding achievement but also serve as an invaluable peer review process.

This critical evaluation helps set new standards for best practices in marketing and brand building across Africa.
