African Brands Congress 2025 will convene continent’s top brand leaders in Lagos on October 13 to showcase excellence and strategise global competitiveness
Set for Monday, October 13, 2025, in Lagos, the milestone 10th edition of African Brands Congress will bring together the continent’s top brand executives, innovators, and policymakers to celebrate, challenge, and reimagine the potential of African brands.

The event will be held at the Grand Ballroom, Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, from 11:00 AM.
This year’s theme—“Building Globally Competitive Brands Out of Africa: Prospects, Challenges, and Opportunities”—sets a bold agenda.
It seeks to push conversations from aspiration to execution for brands hoping to take their place on the international stage.
As part of the 2025 Brands Showcase and Exhibition, the Congress will host several prestigious award categories:
- African Brand Leadership Merit Awards
- African CEOs Awards
- African Brand Innovators Awards
- Africa Sustainability Excellence Awards
- African Most Admired Brands Awards 2025
The Congress is widely regarded across the industry as an essential annual gathering for those who shape brand identity and value in Africa.
It aims to educate, engage, and inspire with fresh thinking and real-world case studies.
Confirmed speakers include Jane Karuku, CEO of East Africa Breweries, and Jaja Salimaty Bah, Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation of Sierra Leone.
Others are Anil Nair of Olam Agri Nigeria; Edha Nahdi of Amsons Group, Kenya; Madelain Roscher of PR Worx, South Africa; and Pendo Micheal Lema, founder of Tempo Africa, Tanzania.
Also on the roster: Sanne Steemers, President Rest of Africa at Afex; Toyosi Akerele‑Ogunsuji, founder of Rest Network; Gbemisola Ojerinde, MD/CEO of Leadroitt Realty; Adeyinka Adesope, GMD/CEO, Palton Morgan; Hamza Hashim, CEO of Capitol Foods, Sierra Leone; and others.
Desmond Esorougwe, Chief Brand Officer at The African Brands, remarked: “The Congress provides a platform for case studies, peer-to-peer learning, and robust conversations. These will centre on the challenges and opportunities that define Africa’s competitive advantage in today’s fast‑changing global market.”
This edition carries extra significance as it marks African Brands @10—a celebration of ten years of excellence, innovation, and brand cultivation across Africa.
“It defines, documents, and drives brand excellence across the continent,” Esorougwe said. “African Brands @10 is the mother of all the initiatives under the African Brands umbrella. It sets the tone for each year’s Congress.”
Supporting partners include The African Brands Academy and the International Brand Management Association (IBMA).
