Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has crossed the N307m mark at the Nigerian box office, emerging as the fourth-highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Group, announced the milestone in a Friday post on Instagram, thanking audiences for their strong support.

According to the distributor, Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed more than N307.2m, making it the highest-grossing Nollywood title ever released in October.
“Thank you, Nigeria! Agbára Nlá: The Return has grossed N307.2M+, the highest-grossing Nollywood title ever for an October release and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026,” the announcement read.
The latest figure represents a significant increase from the N170.6m-plus recorded by the film during its first four days in cinemas.
Nile Group had announced the earlier milestone on October 5, describing the film’s opening performance as a major achievement.
“The revival is here. The power is moving. Agbara Nla: The Return opened with N170.6m+. It can only be God,” the distributor said at the time.
The distributor also credited the film’s performance to strong audience turnout, noting that cinemas recorded packed halls and sold-out shows.
It described the opening as the biggest non-December Nollywood opening weekend, the biggest October opening weekend and the biggest opening weekend for a faith-based film.
Agbara Nla: The Return is a remake of the 1993 Christian film created by veteran filmmaker Mike Bamiloye.
The new production was directed by his sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua “Jay Mikee” Mike-Bamiloye.
The film returned to cinemas on October 1, 2026, more than three decades after the original production.
Its latest box-office milestone further underlines the growing commercial appeal of faith-based productions in Nigeria’s film industry.
