Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed N354.5 million at the Nigerian box office since its release on October 1, becoming the highest-grossing film released in October and the third highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Entertainment, announced the milestone on Monday, thanking Nigerian audiences for their support.
“₦354.5 MILLION AND COUNTING! History is being made with AGBÁRA NLÁ: THE RETURN! Now the highest-grossing film ever released in October and the 3rd highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026,” the distributor stated.
The latest figure marks an increase from the N307.2 million the film had earned by October 16, when it ranked fourth among Nollywood releases of the year.
Agbara Nla: The Return recorded about N71.4 million during preview screenings that ended on October 1. It generated approximately N99.2 million between October 2 and 4, bringing its combined preview and opening weekend earnings to about N170.6 million.
The performance made the production one of Nollywood’s notable releases outside the traditional December cinema season and a strong performer among faith-based films.
Directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, the film is a remake of the original Agbara Nla written and directed by Mike Bamiloye and released in 1993 under Mount Zion Film Productions. It stars Mike Bamiloye, among others, and continues to show in cinemas nationwide.
