Ajilalaoso 2026 Planning Committee visits Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni to seek support and strengthen preparations for the upcoming cultural festival in Ede

The Ajilalaoso 2026 Planning Committee on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni as part of intensified preparations for the forthcoming Ajilalaoso cultural festival in Ede.

The visit focused on strategic planning and mobilisation efforts aimed at delivering a more impactful celebration that promotes unity, tradition and community development across Edeland.

Speaking during the meeting, former National Chairman of the Ede Descendants Union, Mr Basir Oyedemi, expressed appreciation for Adeleke-Sanni’s continued support, particularly her contributions towards community development initiatives.

Committee chairman, Prince Adewale Laoye, also appealed for her support and participation in the 2026 edition of the festival, noting that the event is designed to celebrate Ede’s cultural heritage while driving local empowerment and development projects.

Prince Laoye disclosed that more than 37 clubs have already registered for the event, adding that the festival will feature cultural displays and initiatives aimed at revitalising Oja Oje Olofi and strengthening community engagement.

He further announced that Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni has been selected as Mother of the Day for the upcoming celebration, describing the recognition as a tribute to the Adeleke family’s longstanding contributions to the development of Ede.

In her response, Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni commended the organisers for sustaining the cultural festival and expressed delight at the progress recorded in previous editions.

She described the initiative as a valuable platform for preserving cultural identity and promoting community pride, while also appreciating the continued support for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Adeleke-Sanni assured the committee of her willingness to support and participate in the 2026 celebration, noting that the development of Ede remains a shared priority among stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by members of the Ajilalaoso 2026 Planning Committee, representatives of FEYDA, officials of the Ede Descendants Union and members of the union’s women’s wing.
