The result left Arsenal mathematically unreachable at the top of the table, sealing the North London club’s first English league title in 22 years.
Managed by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal ended years of frustration after finishing runners-up in each of the previous three Premier League campaigns.
The Arsenal Premier League title triumph marks the club’s first league success since the famous “Invincibles” side led by Arsène Wenger won the 2003/04 title without losing a match.
Manchester City, coached by Pep Guardiola, needed victory on England’s south coast to take the title race to the final day of the season but failed to secure all three points.
Arsenal supporters erupted in celebration following the final whistle at the Vitality Stadium, with fans witnessing the club reclaim the Premier League crown after more than two decades.
The Gunners had appeared in danger of surrendering the title race in April following a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium, a result that briefly shifted momentum towards Manchester City.
However, Arsenal responded strongly, winning four successive matches without conceding to reclaim top position and maintain their advantage until the closing stages of the season.
The title is Arsenal’s 14th top-flight championship, placing the club behind only Manchester United F.C. and Liverpool F.C. in the all-time English league rankings.
It also represents Arteta’s second major trophy as Arsenal manager and ends a six-year wait for silverware at the Emirates Stadium.
In a statement published on the club’s official website titled “Arsenal crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions,” Arsenal celebrated what it described as an incredible campaign.
“We have been crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions with a game to spare, after an incredible campaign in N5 has ended with us claiming our 14th top-flight championship,” the statement read.
Arsenal have recorded 25 wins from 37 league matches this season, drawing seven and losing five.
The club’s defensive strength has been central to the title-winning campaign, with 19 clean sheets helping goalkeeper David Raya secure the Golden Glove award for the third consecutive season.
Only Manchester City have scored more league goals than Arsenal’s tally of 69 this term.
The Arsenal Premier League title celebrations are expected to continue on Sunday when the club host their final match of the season at Selhurst Park before lifting the trophy.
Attention will then shift to Europe, where Arsenal are preparing for the second Champions League final in the club’s history.
The Gunners are scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Budapest on May 30 as they seek a first-ever European Cup triumph.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth also celebrated a historic achievement despite conceding a late equaliser to City.
The draw secured European qualification for the Cherries for the first time in their 127-year history.
