Africa Magic announced the closure on Sunday via its official platforms, thanking viewers for participating across the audience-voted categories and acknowledging their role in shaping the outcome of this year’s awards.

“Voting has officially closed. The #AMVCA12 votes are in! Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to support their favourites – you made your voices count,” the organisers stated.

They added that anticipation is now building ahead of the ceremony, noting that the final results will be revealed during the live event.

This year’s edition features 32 categories, including 18 jury-decided awards, 11 audience-voted categories, and three special honours such as Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer recognitions.

Veteran actress Joke Silva serves as Head Judge for the 2026 edition, overseeing the jury process alongside other industry professionals.

Organisers also introduced two new categories this year, expanding the awards’ continental scope with Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa).

The nominees list includes prominent figures such as Funke Akindele, Lateef Adedimeji, Scarlet Gomez, Bimbo Akintola, and Uzor Arukwe, setting the stage for a highly competitive ceremony.
