The Children, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Offences Court sitting in Awka has ordered the remand of a 45-year-old bricklayer, Ikenna Muojekwu, over an alleged defilement case involving his 14-year-old daughter.
Muojekwu, who resides in Nduana village, Aguluzigbo, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, is facing a charge of defilement following allegations brought before the court.

The prosecution, led by Inspector Chinyere Okechukwu, told the court that the alleged offence occurred in March at the family’s residence in Aguluzigbo.
According to the prosecutor, the teenager moved to live with her father in 2025 after separating from her mother.
Okechukwu told the court that the girl reported the matter after allegedly enduring the abuse for a period of time. She said the teenager informed a tenant in the house, who subsequently alerted the police.
The prosecutor further stated that a medical examination carried out at the Ntasi Sexual Assault Referral Centre, General Hospital, Enugu-Ukwu, confirmed evidence consistent with the allegation.
The charge was said to be in violation of Section 3(2) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law of Anambra State, 2017.
Okechukwu urged the court to remand the defendant in a correctional facility in accordance with Section 130(2)(a)(b) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2022.
Chief Magistrate Mrs U.E. Onochie granted the request and ordered that Muojekwu be remanded at the Awka Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
The court adjourned the matter until August 12 for continuation of hearing.
