The Amazon Foundation, a humanitarian charity organisation has marked its 18th year anniversary in Lagos.

According to a statement by the founder, Dr. Bose Olubo Adegeye, the organisation was formed on her need to help the needy in the Nigerian society bearing in mind that governments efforts alone can’t be enough.

“Amazon Foundation came into being in 2003 by Dr. Bose Olubo Adegeye to help the less privileged, sustain African cultural history, and celebrate icons while they are still alive,” she said.

Dr. Adegeye revealed that there are three main motives for the creation; help, history and appreciate living icons.

“It was created in order to help the less privileged in our society and making life easier for them; maintenance, sustainability, and appreciation of our History, which includes our culture and tradition. And finally to appreciate and celebrate of our icons while still living.

“Our 18th-anniversary celebration kicked off with Wellness Walk on 18th December 2021, at LTV, Agidingbi, Ikeja, after which we settled down at Amazon place for free medical consultation, test, and prescription.

She also made it known that the anniversary celebration held at City People Hall, Gbagada Lagos, was an avenue to project the foundation’s aim and objectives to the world.

There were awards presentations to prominent Nigerians, unveiling of Amazon kiddies, Family Impact, and new arts.
