Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has shared that Grammy-winning artist Wizkid has been a significant inspiration in his music career. Asake made this revelation while discussing his collaboration with Wizkid on his newly released third studio album, Lungu Boy.
The two artists worked together on the track “MMS,” which stands for “Mr Money Sound,” a phrase that Asake says encapsulates his music journey. On the digital streaming platforms, Asake expressed his excitement about working with Wizkid, a figure he has long admired and hoped to collaborate with.
He wrote: “It’s no secret that Wizkid is one of my music inspirations. As a young striving artiste in Lagos, I’ve been waiting for that right song so when the opportunity came it was a no-brainer.”
The collaboration on Lungu Boy marks a significant moment in Asake’s career, as he continues to rise in the Afrobeats scene.
