Davido reveals his Grammy-nominated hit ‘With You’ featuring Omah Lay nearly missed the 5IVE album, reflecting on its success and upcoming Coachella 2026 shows
Five-time Grammy nominee Davido has disclosed that his chart-topping song With You, featuring Omah Lay, nearly failed to make the final tracklist of his acclaimed 5IVE album.

The Afrobeats star shared the revelation during an interview with OkayAfrica, reported by HYPETRIBE on Monday, noting that the song was not a favourite during internal listening sessions prior to the album’s release.
“Man, it’s so crazy because that song almost didn’t make the album. With You was not in anybody’s top five,” Davido said.
He added that the track’s eventual success remains emotional for him, especially when performing it live.
With You went on to earn a Grammy nomination, top global charts, and surpass 100 million streams on Spotify.
Davido recalled receiving news of his latest Grammy nod while in Dubai, describing the moment as unexpected.
Despite strong Nigerian representation at the 2026 Grammys, no Nigerian artist won, as South African singer Tyla claimed the Best African Music Performance award.
Looking ahead, Davido confirmed plans for a busy year, including performances at Coachella 2026 in Indio, California, on both Saturdays, April 11 and April 18. He also indicated his focus on touring and releasing new music.
