The hosts shocked the visitors in the 33rd minute when Barça goalkeeper Joan García miscued a clearance outside his box.
Alberto Reina reacted quickest, lofting the ball from distance into the empty net to give Oviedo a surprise lead.
After the break, Barcelona imposed themselves on the match. Eric García equalised in the 56th minute, pouncing inside the penalty area after a goalmouth scramble from a corner.
Twenty minutes later, Robert Lewandowski powered home a header from a precise Frenkie de Jong delivery to put Barça ahead.
With Oviedo tiring, Ronald Araujo added a decisive third in the 88th minute, nodding in another corner to seal victory.
The win moves Barcelona into second place on 16 points, just two behind arch-rivals Real Madrid at the top of the table.
Oviedo remain marooned in the relegation zone, with only three points to show for their efforts this season.
Despite Reina’s spectacular opener, Oviedo were unable to sustain their energy.
Barcelona’s second-half dominance, marked by sharper pressing and controlled possession, highlighted the gulf in quality between the two sides.
