The footage, which has since circulated online, shows the attackers arriving at the busy market area before forcefully taking the woman away in a swift operation that lasted only a few minutes.

The incident reportedly took place in broad daylight, causing panic among traders and residents within the area as the assailants fled the scene immediately after the abduction.

The location of the attack, situated along Airport Road and within proximity of the police headquarters in Benin City, has raised concerns among members of the public over security presence and response time.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident at the time of filing this report, while efforts are expected to be underway to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of the victim.

Security analysts say the footage highlights ongoing concerns about the audacity of armed groups operating in urban centres and the need for strengthened surveillance and rapid response systems.
