The court ruling formally ended the marriage following years of reported conflict, separation, and allegations of infidelity.
Reacting to the judgment, Best Mbiere expressed mixed emotions and reflected on what she described as years of emotional struggle within the marriage.
She said:
“For me, it’s a mixed feeling. Everything is ending today, but it’s not my fault because I truly tried to build my home. I endured bigamy for two years and adultery for over nine years under the same roof. He married another woman, and for two years we never shared the same bed. He also refused to eat my food.”
She added that the experience left her deeply hurt, despite her efforts to sustain the marriage.
According to her, the relationship deteriorated after her husband allegedly married another woman, leading to prolonged separation under the same roof.
She further stated that emotional distance and breakdown of communication ultimately made reconciliation impossible.
The journalist maintained that she remained committed throughout the marriage but said the situation eventually became unbearable.
The High Court’s decision has now formally ended the 12-year union, closing a long chapter marked by dispute and separation.
The case has since generated public attention, with reactions continuing across social media as users debate the circumstances surrounding the dissolution.
While some sympathised with her account, others called for privacy in handling family matters.
