Biodun Okeowo sacrifices revealed as the actress shares how she sold jewellery and endured hardship to fund her son’s education in Canada

Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has opened up about the emotional and financial hardships she endured as a single mother while celebrating her son’s graduation from a university in Canada.

The actress, popularly known as Omoborty, shared her story in an emotional social media post, revealing that she had to make significant sacrifices, including selling some of her gold jewellery, to sustain the cost of her son’s education abroad.

Reflecting on the milestone, Okeowo described the graduation from the University of Edmonton as the culmination of years of faith, perseverance and unwavering commitment to her child’s future.

She disclosed that many people often question why she rarely attends social gatherings, explaining that most of her earnings were dedicated to funding her son’s overseas education.

“I don’t know if people notice that I don’t attend too many parties. I can’t. Every kobo that comes into my account is already allocated. International student fees abroad is not moi-moi,” she wrote.

The actress recounted some of the most difficult moments of the journey, revealing that there were occasions when she and her son broke down in tears during video calls because of the pressure they faced.

As part of the Biodun Okeowo Sacrifices, she said she sold personal valuables to ensure tuition payments were met and her son’s academic journey remained uninterrupted.

“Should I talk about the days I had to sell some of my gold jewellery to pay school fees? The days my son and I would stay on video calls crying?” she said.

Despite the challenges, Okeowo expressed gratitude for reaching what she described as a rewarding moment.

“From the little boy I once held so tightly to the young man standing tall today, God has been faithful,” she wrote.

The actress also used the occasion to encourage other single parents facing similar struggles, urging them to remain steadfast despite financial and emotional difficulties.

“I am sharing this to encourage single parents out there doing it all alone. Don’t give up,” she added.

Her heartfelt message resonated widely on social media, with fans, colleagues and well-wishers congratulating her on her son’s achievement and applauding the determination behind the Biodun Okeowo Sacrifices that helped make the accomplishment possible.
