Biola Bayo deletes controversial Baba Ijesha interview

Biola Bayo Baba Ijesha interview removed from YouTube after backlash over controversial appearance of the disgraced actor

Nollywood actress Biola Bayo deleted her interview with disgraced actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, from her YouTube channel following intense public backlash.

The Biola Bayo Baba Ijesha interview had sparked widespread outrage after the actor addressed allegations of sexual offences, insisting he was neither a paedophile nor a rapist.

During the now-removed video, Baba Ijesha also criticised actress Princess, who accused him in 2021, and expressed disappointment in Iyabo Ojo for turning against him.

The interview triggered a wave of criticism across social media, with many users condemning the decision to give the actor a public platform.

Critics argued that the move undermined the sensitivity of the case and the welfare of minors.

Following the backlash, Biola Bayo took down the video from her YouTube page and restricted access to it on her Instagram account.

The decision was met with mixed reactions. While some users welcomed the move, others questioned why the interview was granted in the first place.

Baba Ijesha’s legal troubles date back to 2021 when Princess accused him of defiling her 14-year-old ward.

The case generated national attention and divided opinions within the Nollywood industry.

In 2022, the actor was sentenced to five years imprisonment over the offence.

His release in November 2025, announced by Yomi Fabiyi, followed a court decision that cleared aspects of the case on appeal, reigniting public debate.

The removal of the interview underscores the continuing sensitivity surrounding the case and highlights the growing scrutiny of media platforms over the voices they amplify.
