Troops of Operation Hadin Kai uncovered a Boko Haram logistics depot stocked with medical supplies, fuel and other critical materials after overrunning terrorist enclaves in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State.

The discovery followed coordinated intelligence led offensives conducted on Sunday across Chilaria, Garin Faruk and Abirma, where troops also repelled multiple armed drone attacks launched by the terrorists.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Uba Sani, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Monday.
Sani said the operation, carried out under Operation Desert Sanity, led to the destruction of several terrorist camps and dealt a decisive blow to the logistical and operational capacity of Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province elements in the area.
He explained that troops advanced from their harbour areas and executed deliberate, intelligence driven clearance operations against identified terrorist positions within the Timbuktu Triangle.
The operation received sustained support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, which provided continuous Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance coverage during the advance.
Sani said the air ground coordination enabled real time tracking of terrorist movements, discouraged reinforcement attempts and enhanced the precision of ground operations.
During the clearance, troops recovered items of military significance, including Baofeng radios, mobile phones, five AK 47 magazines and several rounds of 7.62 by 39 millimetre and 7.62 millimetre NATO ammunition.
Other recoveries included Boko Haram and ISWAP flags, links of 12.7 by 108 millimetre ammunition, diesel powered grinding machines, bags of grains, a pick up truck and an underground Boko Haram logistics depot containing petroleum products and large quantities of medical supplies.
Sani said the recoveries further weakened the terrorists’ ability to sustain operations within the axis.
He disclosed that at about midday, advancing troops came under armed drone attacks launched by the insurgents.
Despite the threat, the troops maintained momentum and continued the offensive.
A second drone attack later in the evening was also repelled, forcing the terrorists to withdraw and confirming the troops’ dominance of the area.
Sani added that troop morale remains high and operational efficiency has been sustained despite prolonged engagements.
He said the security situation in the area is calm but unpredictable, with troops maintaining vigilance and a high state of readiness.

The military high command, he added, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the operations to eliminate terrorist threats, protect civilians and restore lasting peace in the North East.
