The Grammy-winning singer made headlines after using profane language while referencing his mother during a livestream session with fellow artist Shallipopi, in which he denied allegations of assaulting DJ DJ Tunez.
Claims originated from Wizkid, who alleged on social media that Burna Boy and members of his entourage attacked DJ Tunez at a Lagos nightclub after he failed to play the singer’s music.
During the livestream, Burna Boy admitted to striking the DJ but rejected claims of a group assault.
The singer’s comments, which included invoking his mother in a controversial oath, quickly drew criticism online.
It intensified after a viral video surfaced appearing to show Burna Boy and members of his team physically confronting DJ Tunez, contradicting parts of his account and fuelling public outrage.
In response, Bose Ogulu was seen in a widely circulated video surrounded by members of her son’s crew, leading what observers described as a solemn and powerful prayer session.
Speaking in Yoruba, Bose Ogulu prayed for protection against negative declarations, repeating the phrase, “Oloun ma je a remi kemi,” invoking divine intervention amid the growing controversy.
Emotional response has added a human dimension to the unfolding situation, as fans and commentators continue to debate the incident and its implications for Burna Boy’s public image
