Burna Boy’s album No Sign of Weakness loses Best Global Music Album at 2026 Grammys to Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia’s live project
Award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy was narrowly beaten in the Best Global Music Album category at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

His project, No Sign of Weakness, lost to Brazilian legends Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia, whose live album, Caetano e Bethânia Ao Vivo, claimed the prestigious award.
The category featured strong competition, including Siddhant Bhatia’s Sounds of Kumbha, Youssou N’Dour’s Éclairer le monde (Light the World), and Anoushka Shankar’s Chapter III: We Return to Light.
Burna Boy also experienced disappointment in the Best African Music Performance category, which was won by South African singer Tyla for her track Push 2 Start.
Burna Boy, Davido, and Ayra Starr were among the other nominees in the category.

The Grammy results cap a challenging night for the Nigerian star, who had been tipped as a frontrunner in multiple categories.
