Nigerian streamer Caterefe recounts the traumatic murder of his policeman father by armed robbers in Ogun State, sharing details on The Honest Bunch Podcast

Nigerian streamer and skitmaker Caterefe has shared the harrowing story of how his father, a police officer, was fatally shot by armed robbers dressed in military camouflage during a robbery incident on a highway in Ogun State.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Caterefe said his father had just finished duty and joined a police van headed to the nearest bus stop to their home. Unaware of an ongoing robbery operation, his father and colleagues alighted from the van to assess the situation.

“However, they ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues alighted from the van to check what was going but immediately the robbers spotted them in police uniform, they opened fire on them,” Caterefe recounted.

He added that the ordeal became even more traumatic when he saw footage of his father’s lifeless body broadcast on YouTube.

“My dad is on YouTube, I saw my dad’s lifeless body on the ground with police uniform,” he said.

Despite the tragedy, Caterefe emphasised resilience, telling listeners, “I am no stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind.”

The revelation has sparked widespread sympathy on social media, highlighting both the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in Nigeria and the personal toll on their families.
