Change of baton: Tonna Ofuasia pens emotional farewell as Ayanwale takes over Rotary Club

Immediate past president of Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa, Tonna Ofuasia, has penned an emotional farewell message to the club following the end of her administration, which boasted of many transformative projects.

In the lengthy missive, Ofuasia appreciated the efforts of all board members for their immense contributions towards the successes recorded during her one-year administration and the milestones they worked hand in hand to achieve.

She also wished the new administration, led by Rot. ‘Sola Ayanwale, well for the future.

“What a great privilege to serve this beautiful people and club, it’s been a thrilling journey from the beginning to the end. The projects we were able to put up, the culture and atmosphere has been nothing but supportive and loving, it was indeed a good time,” the emotional Tonna allayed while giving her farewell message on her last day in office as the immediate past president of Rotary Club, Ikeja Alausa.

“Permit to start by saying that the last 365 days have taught me that whatever you imagine you can accomplish. The responsibility to lead a young but dynamic Rotary club like ours is one that has taught me so many valuable things.”

“When I accepted to serve as the second and first female President of Rotary club of Ikeja Alausa, my goal was to set the club on a path of positive history and ensure that the club continues to be the talking point in the district and beyond, with the unparalleled support of my board of directors and wonderful club members.”

“We have been able to draw the attention of the district to our club as a result of our outstanding performances and accomplishments throughout the Rotary year.”

“It is no longer news that our club projects continues to get special mention and commendations from the Rotary world, our drive towards Service projects, Rotary Foundation, membership, family of rotary amongst others in the imagine Rotary year gave us a clear distinction in the district.”

“I wish to thank you all for standing by me all through the imaginative Rotary year, your supports and contributions led to the many success stories that the club is celebrating.”

“I am indeed very grateful and I do not take the privilege you all gave me to serve for granted.”

“Dear Rotarians, let me specially welcome you all to another Rotary year, a year that we are creating hope in the world. A huge congratulations to the Third President of our amiable club; Rot. ‘Sola Ayanwale, I have no doubt in your ability to succeed, be sure of my good support and that of the awesome members of our dear Club. I urge us all to rally round him and help sustain the positive momentum of the club.”

“Thank you all for imagining Rotary with me, thank you all for all the success stories that we created for the club, welcome to a year of creating hope, welcome to yet another amazing Rotary year that promises to be outstanding.”

“I am super proud of you all and Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa will continue to stand out,” the message ended.
