Samuel Chukwueze claims his first EPL MOTM award after assisting in Fulham’s 2–1 win at Tottenham, marking a strong return to form

Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze celebrated his first EPL MOTM award on Saturday after helping the Cottagers secure a 2–1 victory over Tottenham, marking a notable turnaround in his recent form.

Samuel Chukwueze created Fulham’s opener within four minutes, supplying Kenny Tete with a precise cross that continued his run of consecutive league assists.

The performance earned him the Man of the Match honour, following last week’s Legend of the Match accolade in the club’s win over Sunderland.

The winger started against Tottenham after coming off the bench to deliver the decisive assist at Sunderland, an effort that convinced manager Marco Silva to hand him his first league start since joining on loan from AC Milan.

Speaking after the match, Samuel Chukwueze admitted he had not expected the award but said he was determined to fight his way back to form.

He described recent months as challenging but credited Fulham’s coaching staff for keeping him motivated.

He added that the team had to defend “with all our lives” to protect the victory, calling the result very important for the squad.

Until Saturday, Samuel Chukwueze had made only five Premier League appearances this season, all as a substitute.

With Fulham holding a purchase option of about €25m, the 26-year-old is eager to impress and secure a permanent move rather than face another summer transfer.

Fulham now turn their attention to a demanding fixture against Manchester City on Tuesday, with Samuel Chukwueze expected to play a key role as his resurgence gathers momentum.
