Ciana Chapman, the former wife of Nigerian comedian Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has opened up about her experience in their relationship while advising women against rushing into marriage before the age of 30.
Chapman, who has been making comments about relationships and marriage, reportedly reflected on her experience with the comedian, saying she was initially attracted to Sabinus because of his popularity and fame.
According to comments attributed to her, Chapman said she initially believed his public image and success meant he possessed the qualities she wanted in a partner.
“The first time I met Sabinus, I was carried away by his popularity and fame. I thought I had everything I need in a man,” she was quoted as saying.
She then made a personal claim about their private life, alleging that the comedian could not last more than five minutes during sex. She also accused him of being stingy.
The comments have attracted attention because they come months after the couple publicly confirmed that their relationship had ended.
Sabinus confirmed in December 2025 that his marriage to Chapman, which was formalised in 2023, had ended. The comedian said the separation was peaceful and maintained that he and Chapman remained on good terms while co-parenting their daughter.
The former couple had previously kept much of their relationship away from public scrutiny. However, their union became known publicly in 2023 after Chapman shared pictures and messages referring to Sabinus as her husband.
Before their separation, Chapman had also been linked to reports concerning problems in the marriage, including allegations of infidelity and disputes over financial support for their child. Those claims were reported as allegations at the time and were not established as facts.
Sabinus, for his part, has previously spoken about Chapman positively. In 2023, he credited her with influencing his decision to relocate from Port Harcourt to Lagos in pursuit of greater opportunities in the entertainment industry.
The comedian also spoke publicly about heartbreak in January 2026, recalling that he had once bought a woman a Range Rover out of love before the relationship ended. He said the experience made him regret the gesture and described love as capable of causing emotional pain.
Chapman’s latest comments also included advice to young women about marriage. She reportedly said she did not think women should get married before the age of 30, urging them to take time to understand themselves and make decisions about marriage carefully.
The remarks have since generated reactions online, particularly because they revisit aspects of a relationship that both Chapman and Sabinus had previously kept largely private.
While Chapman’s comments represent her account of the relationship, Sabinus has not, in the reports reviewed, publicly responded to the specific claims about their sex life and her allegation that he was stingy.
