The news of kidnap is getting almost as famous as the country as a whole itself. Even oversees it is no longer news to the ears of various people across the continent and the world that Nigeria is currently suffering from hard bent insecurity. In fact no one would be blamed if they woke up in the morning and was already expecting to hear of new kidnap cases which has grown like wide fire across the whole country.

The present administration’s aim had being a predominant call out for corruption, little does it know that something bigger was about to hit the stage as insecurity will not stop but go on in an increasing worse rate in the history of the country.

Another recent victim to this ravaging, economy crippling challenge is a lecturer of a popular university of Abia State University Uturu and his niece.

Freelanews gathered that the yet-to-be apprehended bandits also abducted another teacher at the University’s International Secondary School Uturu and his wife travelling together with the lecturer.
The victims were reportedly on their way to Ozuitem for a religious activity when the tragedy occurred.

According to a university source who requested anonymity, the victims were travelling on the Campus/Isuikwuato route when they came across a bunch of bandits who began shooting intermittently, causing the victims’ cars to come to a halt.
They were later marched into the bush by the gunmen.

The source said that there were other travelers including another lecturer of the university who also ran into the band but it is not yet clear the actual number of persons forcefully taken away by the gunmen.

When contacted for confirmation, the Public Relations Officer PRO of the university, Mr. Chijioke Nwogu promised to get back to our Correspondent if he gathered details of the incident.

It is also unclear whether any contact has been made with the victims’ families.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Geoffrey Ogbonna acknowledged the event but stated that just one lecturer remained detained. He stated that the other victims had been rescued and that attempts were still being made to save the other victims.

Citizens are now obliged to place their confidence in higher divination, while others have given up on all hope and opted to calmly wait out the current regime
