Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has expressed his desire to play in La Liga one day, while stressing that he remains happy and committed to the Premier League club.
The 31-year-old Spain international made the remarks in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca on Wednesday, leaving open the possibility of returning to his home country in the future.

Raya, whose contract with Arsenal runs until June 2028, has spent his professional career in England after leaving Spain as a teenager.
“Yes, I would love to. I would love to try out LaLiga,” he told Marca.
“For now, I’m very happy here [at Arsenal], but I would certainly like to experience the Spanish league. I think it’s a very competitive league. Perhaps, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I’m Spanish, and I’d love to play there, that’s for sure.”
Born in Barcelona, Raya joined Arsenal from Brentford in 2023 on an initial loan deal before completing a permanent transfer.
The goalkeeper has become a key figure at Arsenal, earning recognition for his performances and helping the club compete for major honours in domestic and European competitions.
Reflecting on his progress, Raya described the past campaign as the best of his career so far, although he regretted not getting playing time at the World Cup.
“I believe I’ve had a perfect year. Perhaps the only thing missing was playing in the World Cup. Every year since I arrived at Arsenal, I’ve continued to improve and hopefully that will keep happening,” he said.
Despite his interest in experiencing Spanish football, Raya made clear that his immediate focus remains on achieving success with Arsenal.
“My goal is to win everything. We want to establish ourselves as favourites. Hopefully we can go one better this year by lifting the Champions League, but there is still a long way to go,” he said.
The Spanish goalkeeper says he would welcome the chance to play in his home country one day but insists he is happy at Arsenal and wants to win more trophies with the club.

His comments suggest that while a move to La Liga remains an ambition for the future, Raya is not signalling an immediate departure from Arsenal.
