I Go Save criticises rapid internet data depletion, urging Tinubu to address high costs and poor service affecting Nigerians

Nigerian comedian and content creator I Go Save criticised internet service providers over rapid internet data depletion in Lagos on Wednesday, highlighting frustrations among Nigerians about high costs and unreliable service.

In a viral video shared on social media, I Go Save alleged that one-month data plans often expire within hours rather than days.

He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and ensure fair practices by telecom operators.

“They just talk say I have subscribed for one month, e no even reach how many hours, the thing don finish. Internet providers are defrauding Nigerians badly,” I Go Save said, stressing that even wealthier users are affected by the issue.

The comedian contrasted the Nigerian situation with international norms, noting that abroad, a one-month plan lasts exactly one month.

“With the way internet providers dey do, even Dangote go dey off him data. Tinubu, is that you no dey use data?” he questioned.

I Go Save’s remarks have ignited online debate, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and urging stronger regulation of telecom services to protect consumers from unfair billing and rapid data exhaustion.
