Nnamdi, a native of Uteh Okpu in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, would have turned 55 on 21 March.
In a statement issued by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Abbas described the loss as both shocking and painful.
“It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of my Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative), Dr Dunkwu Chamberlain Nnamdi,” Abbas said.
The Speaker recalled that Nnamdi had been active only hours before his death, joining him and colleagues for the Ramadan breaking of fast on Friday evening.
“Dr Chamberlain was not just my Deputy Chief of Staff; he was a dependable and committed ally who served diligently until his last breath,” Abbas added.
Abbas noted that Nnamdi left behind a legacy of service and dedication.
“He leaves behind a record of selflessness, dedication, sacrifice, and a sense of responsibility. We will miss him dearly.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this trying moment,” he said.
The Speaker also visited the bereaved family to console Nnamdi’s widow and children. “Whatever has a beginning must have an end. Please, take heart.
It is really shocking, but we can’t question God. He lived a life full of service to humanity,” Abbas remarked.
Appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) in June 2023, Nnamdi had earlier served as Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th House and later as Chief of Staff to Femi Gbajabiamila.
