When hoodlums attacked, traditional rulers were claimed to be holding a stakeholders meeting in Nnenasa, the seat of the state’s Njaba Local Government Area.
Eze E. A Durueburuo, Obi I of Okwudor, and Eze Sampson Osunwa of the Ihebinowere autonomous community are the monarchs affected.
Other traditional rulers who attended the gathering were said to have been injured.
The police spokesperson in the state, Mike Abattam, who confirmed the incident, said that two monarchs were confirmed dead on the spot while the wounded have been taken to hospital for treatment.
