Liverpool have released a new biography celebrating the life and legacy of former forward Diogo Jota, with profits from the book set to support a grassroots football programme being established in his name through the LFC Foundation.
Titled Forever in Our Hearts, the biography was written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado and published by Reach Sport. Liverpool announced the release on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The book traces Jota’s journey from his early years in Portugal to his rise as one of the most admired players of his generation and a much-loved member of Liverpool’s football family.
Delgado drew on interviews with members of Jota’s family, friends, former teammates and coaches to provide a personal account of the forward’s life away from the pitch.
Among those who contributed were Jota’s wife, Rute, his parents, Isabel and Joaquim, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and more than 90 other people who knew the player closely.
Their recollections paint a portrait of a footballer remembered not only for his ability and determination but also for his humility, relationships and character.
The biography also explores the close bond between Jota and his brother, André Silva, while reflecting on the influence both men had on teammates, friends and the wider football community.
Jota enjoyed a distinguished career, winning the Premier League with Liverpool and the UEFA Nations League with Portugal. His performances for club and country established him as a key figure in modern Portuguese football.
The book, however, also confronts the devastating circumstances surrounding the deaths of Jota and André in July 2025, shortly after Jota had married his childhood sweetheart, Rute.
Their deaths triggered an emotional response across the football world, with clubs, players, supporters and football authorities paying tribute to the brothers.
Delgado said the project was conceived during a period of profound grief and was intended to preserve Jota’s memory with sensitivity.
“My commitment throughout was to tell his story with care, honesty and respect for Diogo, André, and the family and friends who loved them,” he said.
The author said the willingness of those close to the brothers to share their memories helped reveal their personalities and the depth of affection they inspired.
He also highlighted the special relationship between Jota and Liverpool, saying the people he interviewed spoke not only about his qualities as a footballer but also about his commitment and character.
Delgado expressed hope that Forever in Our Hearts would become a fitting tribute to Jota while inspiring future generations to remain connected to football.
The biography is available through official Liverpool FC stores and online, with profits going towards the grassroots football programme being established in Jota’s name through the LFC Foundation.
The initiative forms part of Liverpool’s wider efforts to preserve the forward’s legacy beyond his achievements on the pitch.
Earlier in 2026, the club unveiled a permanent memorial outside Anfield in honour of Jota and André, giving supporters a dedicated place to remember the brothers.

Through the biography and grassroots programme, Liverpool is seeking to turn the memory of Jota into an enduring legacy, creating opportunities for young people to enjoy and develop through the sport he loved.
