‘Dividends of democracy for all’ The Yellow Initiatives supporting Dapo Abiodun developmental strides (Photos)

Dr. Babatunde Diya has expressed his readiness to consolidate and compliment the Yellow Revolution of Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration through public engagements and support for downtrodden in Odogbolu local government area of the state.

In what feelers said has been unprecedented in areas of private support to Odogbolu and the indigenes, Dr. Diya through his The Yellow Initiative has touched several areas in all towns and communities within Odogbolu and it’s environs.

The Yellow Initiatives which is an offshoot of Dr. Tunde Diya Foundation have started contributing immensely in several areas such as; Education, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Agriculture, Sports and Entertainment, Healthcare and other Community Social Responsibilities (CSR).

Within months of its establishment, TYI which is specifically meant to further support Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR in bringing dividend of democracy to the people of Odogbolu and beyond has been able to embark on life touching programs. Highlights of some of the things the Initiative has embarked upon and achieve includes :

1) The foundation launch on the 7th of July, 2020 with the giving out of engagement/employment letters to about 50 employees currently on the payroll.

2.) The distribution of 15 automated Blood pressure machines, 15 glucometers, 15 glucose strips and lancets to
primary Health Care facilities across Odogbolu local government and elders in wards in odogbolu.

3.) The construction of a Volley Ball court in Comprehensive High School, odogbolu.

4.) The repair of 18 computers in Comprehensive High School, Odogbolu.

5.) The servicing of the Generator in Comprehensive High School, Odogbolu.

6.) The purchase of a brand new battery for the generator at Comprehensive High School Odogbolu.

7.) The donation of a brand new 2.8kva generator to a business owner to boost her business in Odogbolu.

8.) The donation of Scrabble and Chess boards for the foundation Students and the citizens.

9.) The renovation and beautification of the entrance to Odogbolu.

10.) The renovation of the Olopomerin/NYSC Roundabout in Odogbolu.

11.) The renovation of the Agemo/Orile roundabout in Odogbolu.

12.) The renovation of the Ile Aro ( Oba-Nle Aro ) a traditional Goldmsith place in Odogbolu.

13.) Provision of ICT equipments for tutorials for computer trainings and programming classes.

14.) Free lessons/Tutorials for about 170 registered students (SS2 & SS3).

15.) The repair of the Borehole in Comprehensive High School, Odogbolu.

16.) Free Medical consultations and Free drugs to 400+ youths, aged and pregnant woman. 4 wards have been covered. Idowa, Mobalufon, Imodi Imosan, Ayepe with all wards being planned by the end of the year.

17.) Enumeration exercise to count all the residents across Odogbolu local government. 80 temporarily employed and paid staff, mostly Odogbolu youths will benefit from this programme

18.) Enviromental cleanup of Odogbolu local government. Work already commenced in Alekun.

19.) Distribution of Palliatives to 1,500 people and 500 facial masks at the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown in Odogbolu.

20.) Payment of Medical bills to about 10 persons in Odogbolu town.

Dr. Diya had during the formal inauguration of The Yellow Initiatives stated that this intervention shall be a continuous support.

Diya is European trained Medical Doctor ( MD ) with a knowledgeable background in Infectious Diseases, through his work with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

His vast work experience in General Medicine spans through LASUTH, LUTH, ABUTH. He is also the co-founder of 3 technology start ups namely; NVIVOPLAY, FUTURE TECH SOLUTIONS, TUDO INTERACTIVE focused on technology in Health Care, Security, Games Development, Animation, Extended reality.

Hails from Odogbolu local government in Ogun state, Tunde Diya is happily married with two children.
