Mavin Records founder and music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed the moment he first recognised singer Ayra Starr’s potential for stardom during a podcast interview with Creatorium in Nigeria on a recent date.

Don Jazzy explained that the discovery of Ayra Starr happened almost instantly, describing it as a powerful and unforgettable moment that confirmed her unique talent and future in the music industry.
According to Don Jazzy, the breakthrough moment came when he came across several cover performances of Ayra Starr singing songs originally performed by 2Face Idibia, which immediately caught his attention.
“It didn’t take one minute,” Don Jazzy said, recalling how quickly he became convinced of her exceptional ability.
The Mavin Records boss noted that Ayra Starr’s presence and artistry stood out in a way he had not seen before, describing her as a “new character” in the industry with a distinct identity and sound.
“At the time that she came into the game, you could tell that a new character had been unlocked that we had never seen before,” he added.
