Don’t recognise Abayomi Sanyaolu as state chairman, AA warns OGSIEC

Action Alliance cautions OGSIEC against recognising Abayomi Sanyaolu as Ogun Chairman, affirming Professor Tunde Adebola as rightful leader

The Action Alliance (AA) has issued a firm directive to the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), warning against recognising Mr. Abayomi Sanyaolu as the party’s chairman in Ogun State.

In an official notice to OGSIEC, released to the press on Monday, 11 November 2024, in Abeokuta, the party emphasised that any engagements with Mr. Sanyaolu in this role are legally void and violate the party’s constitution.

Referencing decisions by the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court, AA clarified that Mr. Sanyaolu is no longer affiliated with the party in any leadership capacity.

The party insisted that Mr. Kenneth Udeze, the former National Chairman who purportedly appointed Mr. Sanyaolu, has been expelled from AA and therefore lacks any legal authority to make such appointments.

AA also directed OGSIEC to formally recognise Professor Tunde Adebola as the legitimate State Chairman and Pastor Taiwo Ademola as the State Secretary for the Action Alliance in Ogun State, stressing that Mr. Sanyaolu holds no valid position within the party’s Ogun Chapter.

OGSIEC, in response, reaffirmed its readiness to conduct local government elections set for 16 November 2024, assuring the public of an orderly and transparent election process.

“This clarification aims to establish the true leadership of Action Alliance in Ogun State and prevent any confusion regarding the party’s representation,” the statement concluded.
