Actress Doris Ogala has publicly apologised to comedian Jephthah Bowoto, popularly known as Akpororo, following controversial allegations she previously made against him.

In a post on her Instagram page on Thursday, Ogala admitted her comments were spoken in anger and may have caused misconceptions about the comedian.

Ogala explained she had expected Akpororo to reach out to hear her side before reacting, but her statements instead created false impressions.

She pleaded with the comedian to forgive her, emphasising that her remarks were driven by anger.

“Akpororo, my sincere apology for what I said. I felt you would have reached out to know my side of the story. Anyway, what I said caused a misconception. I apologise. It was said in anger,” she wrote.

The apology follows a viral video in which Ogala accused Akpororo of misconduct, including failing to pay women he was allegedly with and other claims related to his performances at Pastor Chris Okafor’s church.

Akpororo responded with laughter, dismissing her claims as baseless and challenged her to provide evidence.

He also suggested she needed a medical evaluation due to her frequent outbursts online.

Nigerians responded with mixed reactions, questioning if other claims Ogala made were false and noting the importance of evidence before making accusations online.

Earlier, Pastor Chris Okafor publicly apologised to Ogala after the drama surrounding her arrest and release, kneeling during a livestream service and offering to make restitution to anyone affected.
