The EFCC has issued a wanted notice for Elie Bitar, a 41-year-old foreign national, for alleged involvement in a cryptocurrency fraud via the online platform Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), defrauding numerous Nigerian investors
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially declared Elie Bitar, a 41-year-old foreign national, wanted in connection with a significant cryptocurrency fraud.

Bitar is allegedly linked to the online trading platform Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), which is accused of defrauding numerous unsuspecting investors across Nigeria.
According to an official bulletin released by the EFCC, Bitar is suspected of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme through CBEX, capitalizing on the growing interest in cryptocurrency investments within Nigeria.
The platform, CBEX, had promised users rapid and substantial returns on their crypto trading and investments but soon raised red flags due to its apparent lack of regulatory compliance and transparency.
The EFCC disclosed that Elie Bitar’s last known address was Eng. George Enemoh Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State.
The public is hereby notified that ELIE BITAR…is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” stated the official EFCC bulletin.
The Commission is urging members of the public who possess any information regarding the whereabouts of Elie Bitar to come forward.

They can contact any of the EFCC’s zonal offices located in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.

The EFCC’s investigation into Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) has reportedly uncovered a trail of transactions linking Bitar to the alleged fraudulent activities and other individuals, some of whom have already been apprehended.

Dele Oyewale, the Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, signed the wanted notice, underscoring the agency’s unwavering commitment to identifying and apprehending individuals who exploit Nigerians through deceptive financial schemes.
