The Allied Peoples Movement has criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke over the continued closure of the Oke-Fia flyover, describing the project as wasteful
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Osun State has criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke over the continued closure of the Oke-Fia flyover, saying it shows the project is not a priority for the area.

The party said the free flow of traffic at Oke-Fia despite the flyover’s closure exposes the project as an expensive mistake and a waste of public funds.
In a statement issued on Saturday by its chairman, Adewale Adebayo, APM said the bridge has remained closed since its completion last year.
Adebayo, who is also the party’s governorship candidate for the 2026 election, said he had warned in 2023 that the state government’s N100 billion and N150 billion infrastructure plans were unnecessary spending sprees.
“Today, Osun people can see clearly. The N100 billion plan has not achieved up to 15 per cent meaningful impact,” the statement said.
It added that the N150 billion plan delivered visible projects mainly in Ede, the governor’s hometown.
According to APM, more than 80 kilometres of roads were constructed in Ede, while other parts of the state were neglected.
The party described it as scandalous that the N10.7 billion Oke-Fia flyover, completed over four months ago, remains unopened.
It said traffic and pedestrian movement in Osogbo have continued normally despite the closure.
“Vehicles and pedestrians are moving freely. No gridlock. No chaos. No hardship,” the party said.
APM argued that the situation raises questions about the planning, necessity, and value-for-money of the project.
The party described the flyover as a cosmetic project designed for political publicity rather than public need.
It accused the state government of prioritising contract pipelines over essential sectors such as healthcare, education, youth employment, and economic empowerment.
APM demanded that the Adeleke administration publish details of all projects executed under the N100 billion and N150 billion plans.
The party asked for the names of contractors and the exact contract sums.

APM also warned that Osun residents would not be misled by inducements or propaganda ahead of the next election.
