Ekpoma businessman killing shocks Edo residents as Justice Oshioke is shot dead by suspected kidnappers before his child’s dedication
Residents of Ekpoma in Edo State have been plunged into mourning following the killing of businessman Justice Abu Oshioke, who was shot dead by suspected kidnappers just hours before his child’s dedication ceremony.

Justice Oshioke, the Chief Executive Officer of a popular fast-food outlet, Principle Takeout, was reportedly attacked on Saturday night at Idumebo area of Ekpoma while returning home.
Ekpoma businessman killing occurred when armed men allegedly attempted to abduct him, but the situation turned deadly after he resisted their attempt to drag him into a nearby bush.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, said the attackers opened fire during the struggle. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead despite efforts to save his life.
The tragic incident, which took place a day before the planned dedication of his newborn child, has left the community in deep shock and grief, with many residents expressing renewed concern over rising insecurity in the area.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Eno Ikoedem, said the command was aware of the killing and had launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
She noted that Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika had ordered a comprehensive manhunt for the perpetrators, assuring that efforts were ongoing to bring those responsible to justice.
Authorities have also urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.

The killing has further heightened fears in parts of Edo State, where residents continue to call for stronger security presence and urgent action to curb violent crime.
