Speaking at the Brand Handlers Summit & Awards on August 29, 2025, in Lagos, the Business Unit Director and Digital Transformation Champion at mediaReach OMD Nigeria urged stakeholders to embrace integrity, innovation, and talent development to achieve sustainable brand growth.

“Nigeria stands at the threshold of becoming Africa’s growth epicenter,” Adediran declared, addressing brand custodians, industry leaders, and marketing professionals.

“To realize this potential, we must reset our approach focusing on value creation, collaboration, and a relentless commitment to both brands and consumers.”

Adediran praised the resilience of Nigerian brands navigating tough economic conditions and shifting consumer behaviors but warned that renewed trust and innovation are essential.

“Every brand that has weathered these challenging times deserves recognition. Yet, as we look ahead, we must address subdued consumer confidence, fragmented attention, and the urgent need for renewed trust.”

The keynote outlined eight actionable strategies for unlocking the next phase of brand growth in Nigeria:

  1. Integrity and Quality – Authenticity must be non-negotiable.
  2. Digital Transformation and AI – Leveraging technology for sharper insights and efficiency.
  3. Collaboration and ‘Co-opetition’ – Growing the pie through data sharing and joint innovation.
  4. Local Innovation – Solving uniquely Nigerian challenges for competitive advantage.
  5. Holistic Metrics – Moving beyond limited KPIs toward cultural equity and emotional connections.
  6. Brand x Performance Marketing – Integrating long-term brand-building with performance ROI.
  7. Sustainability – Making measurable eco-friendly and ethical commitments.
  8. Talent Development – Investing in the next generation of marketing professionals.

Adediran concluded with a powerful call to action: “True brand growth in Nigeria is no longer about choosing between brand or performance it’s about multiplying both.

The brands that thrive will be those who turn adversity into opportunity, championing purpose and people to shape the future of marketing excellence.”
