Timi of Ede in Osun State, Oba Adesola Lawal (Laminisa 1), has advised Federal and state governments to address the key demands by youths which is the provision of employment in the country.

Oba Lawal gave the advice while speaking at the investiture of Youssef Sanders as the new President of Rotary Club of Ilorin Metro held in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He said, “The Federal and state governments should try and accede to their calls by creating jobs and addressing the issue of unemployment to prevent future protests by youths in the country.”

Oba Lawal charged the Rotary Club to continue to deliver on its mandate in the area of community development by engaging the youths in different communities where they are citing development projects across the country.

The new President of the club, Sañders, advised governments to engage the youths adding, “once we engage the youths, we will all have a better country because the youths are the future of every country”.

He promised that he would concentrate on the provision of more classrooms in public schools and health facilities adding that his plan is to assist poor pregnant women who could not afford to settle their hospital bills after delivery.

Also, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Mohammed Mustapha-Akanbi (SAN), who was the guest speaker at the investiture, urged the Rotary Club to wage war against fake news which is being circulated on social media if it wants its community projects to have impacts on the society.
