‘Exclusive agreement’ Amazon inks deal with Nigerian production company

Amazon Prime Video Continues to push to the African market by signing a second exclusive license agreement with a production company based in Nigeria..

Streamer has a Lagos-based multi-year contract Anthill Studio behind the local theater hits, including Prophet, Fateful day, When Elevator Baby.. The agreement is expected to make Prime Video the exclusive global streaming home for Slate’s movie release in Anthill, following its theatrical release in Nigeria.

This is the second transaction Amazon has made. For months following the agreement with, Wedding party Production company Inkblot Studios.

Ayana Ronian, Director of Content Acquisition for Prime Video and Head of Worldwide Major Studio Licensing Strategy, said: “We want to tell our customers the best Nollywood and authentic African stories. This groundbreaking deal will help us reach that goal.”
