The Yoruba nation agitator, Oloye Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed the reason he championed the cause for Yoruba independence.
In a telephone interview with Freelanews, Igboho informed our correspondent that he foreseen that the security situation of the country would not improve due to the unwillingness of Buhari-led government to call the marauding Fulani herdsmen to order and the obvious kid-glove treatment of the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
“It should now be obvious to all Nigerians that I decided to speak and fight for my people because I knew the kind of character the Fulanis are. Imagine the ongoing crisis in the country at the moment where villagers are macheted daily and sacked from their communities by these Fulani terrorists in north.
“Yet, this is Fulani to Fulani o to the extent that both women and children are not spared when these bandits decide to attack. So you can’t imagine what they would do to other tribes,” Igboho said.

He, therefore, advised that all Yoruba people should stand united and protect their land against terrorists.
“I’m defending Yorubaland because of the love I have for it and nothing more. It’s high time my brothers and sisters stood together to protect what is ours,” he stated.
When asked about his experience in detention and all that transpired, Igboho declined to talk.
“The time is not yet ripe for that. I’ll reveal all that at the right time,” he said.
The Yoruba nation agitator, however, assured our correspondent that he has not abandoned his clamour for Yoruba freedom despite the horrible experience he and his team had in the hands of Nigerian government that attacked him without any provocation.
In a related development the United Kingdom (UK) has warned against travels to seven states in the north following the rising spate of insecurity in Nigeria.
According to a travel advisory on the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) website, the affected states are Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara.
