Nigeria’s Falconets defeat Ghana 3-0 to win the WAFU B U20 Girls Tournament in Benin Republic, with Akekoromowei and Kareem among the scorers
Nigeria’s Falconets were unstoppable on Tuesday, routing Ghana’s Princesses 3-0 to claim the WAFU B U20 Girls Tournament crown in the Bénin Republic.

Goals from Janet Akekoromowei and Ramotalahi Kareem set the tone for the Nigerians, who were already 2-0 up before the 25th minute, courtesy of strikes by Akekoromowei (17th minute) and Alaba Olabiyi (24th minute).
Akekoromowei had also netted twice in Nigeria’s 3-1 loss to Ghana on Saturday, while Kareem secured a brace against the hosts on Sunday, underlining their key roles in the team’s attack.
Victory propelled the Falconets to nine points and a plus-eight goal difference, having scored three goals in each of their three games.
Ghana’s Princesses finished second with six points after victories over the host nation.
The final group-stage fixture against the Bénin Republic on Wednesday is largely ceremonial, as Nigeria have already secured the trophy.
