Father Mbaka warns over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, alleging possible political motives behind recent kidnappings and calling for urgent action

Catholic priest and spiritual leader, Father Ejike Mbaka, has raised fresh concerns over Nigeria’s worsening security situation, alleging that a coordinated political agenda may be fuelling the recent surge in kidnappings and violent attacks across the country.

Father Mbaka made the remarks during a public address in which he called on state governors and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle criminal activities and protect vulnerable communities.

The kidnapping alarm centred on claims that criminal acts, particularly the abduction of children and other innocent citizens, could be aimed at generating public anger and undermining confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the cleric, kidnappings should not be used as a tool for political objectives.

Father Mbaka argued that those responsible for insecurity must be identified and brought to justice through intelligence gathering and effective law enforcement.

The outspoken priest urged state governments to deploy available technological resources to trace criminal networks and dismantle their operations before more lives are endangered.

In a powerful warning, Father Mbaka said insecurity remains a threat to every Nigerian regardless of status or location, stressing that no community should assume it is immune from the growing menace.

The cleric also offered prayers against those behind violent crimes, expressing concern that continued attacks could deepen fear and instability across the country.

The comments have generated discussion among supporters and critics alike, with many focusing on the broader issues of insecurity, governance and public safety.

Nigeria continues to grapple with kidnapping, banditry and other security challenges in several regions, prompting repeated calls for stronger collaboration between security agencies, government authorities and local communities.
