The controversy erupted following Bobrisky’s award during the event, sparking widespread criticism online as many commentators questioned the decision to honor a man with an award designated for females.

The incident’s aftermath escalated tensions, leading to altercations between Bobrisky and Portable, as well as between Femi Adebayo and his colleague, Dayo Amusa.

In response to the backlash, Femi Adebayo has now issued a strong denial, asserting that he was not responsible for the decision to award Bobrisky. A letter written on behalf of the actor by AFRIMEK clarified that Femi Adebayo was merely present at the event to present the award to the chosen recipient.

The statement aims to dispel any misconceptions surrounding Femi Adebayo’s involvement in the controversial award, emphasizing that he played a ceremonial role in the proceedings rather than being responsible for selecting winners.
