Segun Ogungbe professional relationship clarified as actor explains why he still works with ex-wife Omowunmi Ajiboye on a joint film project

Nollywood actor Segun Ogungbe, addressed public speculation in Lagos, Nigeria, over his continued appearances with ex-wife and actress Omowunmi Ajiboye, clarifying that their interactions are strictly professional and tied to a joint film project.

The actor explained that he and Omowunmi Ajiboye are currently working together on a movie titled Irete, which they co-produced with equal financial contributions reportedly exceeding N300 million.

Segun Ogungbe stated that the collaboration was not driven by reconciliation but by necessity, noting that both parties were already deeply involved in the project before their separation.

“It’s the nature of our work. We have to put our differences aside and work together,” he said, stressing that their professional commitments required continued cooperation.

He further revealed that Omowunmi Ajiboye had contributed financially to the production and remained an integral part of the project, making it impossible to exclude her from the film.

The actor confirmed that communication between them continues but remains strictly limited to matters concerning the movie and broader professional engagements within the film industry.

Segun Ogungbe also disclosed that the production scale of Irete had already surpassed 300 million naira in investment, highlighting the significant financial commitment behind the project.

The clarification comes amid growing public curiosity sparked by the pair’s frequent joint appearances at industry events, which had fuelled rumours of a possible reconciliation.

The actor’s statement underscores a firm and professional stance, reinforcing that their current relationship remains rooted in business rather than personal ties.
